Damnable, Denying, Destruction—The Three "D's" of 2 Peter 2:1

The Holy Scriptures have some terrible words of warning, many of them evidently not familiar to the church in these days. Christ used them. Paul used them. John used them. Peter used them.

Meaning in the Solar Eclipse?

Thanks to a co-worker who laid a pair of solar glasses on my desk and encouraged me, I, like thousands and tens of thousands of others, just watched the total eclipse of the sun—awesome experience! I should remember this one; it was a day before my birthday.

Has the Pulpit Lost Its Nerve?

One fears that in some quarters the pulpit has lost its nerve and forgotten the evidence of history, that whenever Christianity has been most convincing she has been most victorious, and whenever she has been most apologetic, she has been most futile; and also that it is the schools within Christianity which are constructive and aggressive, and not the schools that are critical and eclectic which have chiefly affected their generation.

Six Distinctives of Biblical Fundamentalism

Virtually all Christian voices heard today (whether from churches, para-church ministries, media ministries, authors, seminar lecturers or conference speakers) are bold in their claim that what they are saying is based upon the Word of God. So why the conflicting statements and agendas? Why is the Biblical fundamentalist distinctively set apart from what seems to be every one else when he defines acceptable faith and practice by way of the Word of God? The difference is that he not only believes the Word, but he is also willing to walk in Its light.

Safe, If Saved!

Can a child of God so apostatize as to be finally lost? The Word of God, and it alone, can authoritatively, satisfactorily, and finally answer this question. Experience cannot answer it, for experiences vary among different individuals, and even in the same individual, and therefore cannot speak with authority, for it has a varied voice. Observation cannot answer this question because observation cannot have full and perfect information. First, one can never know by what he sees and hears of another whether that other is a saved person or not.
