Praising God for 90 Years

April 17, 2018, marked the 90th anniversary of the Fundamental Evangelistic Association. As we look back over 90 years of service for Jesus Christ, we can truly shout forth the words of the psalmist from the depths of our hearts: “Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever” (Psa. 106:1). Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, and today, and forever, has not only blessed the Fundamental Evangelistic Association throughout its 90-year history, but has also abundantly provided above all that we could ever ask or think. While Satan has often placed stumblingblocks and discouraging situations on the pathway of the ministry entrusted to us, we know that the answer to such testings is always to submit to God’s will and to resist the pressure to give up or give in. We must remain steadfast in the faith and press on in the battle.

Since its inception on April 17, 1928, the FEA has held firm to its commitment to “preach the gospel, teach the Word, and contend for the faith.” We believe this brief, biblical mottoe defines the essence of biblical balance that is honoring to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The FEA has always attempted to keep itself from becoming embroiled in local church controversies, petty disputes, and personality wars that seem to engulf many ministries. With God’s help, we have simply endeavored to preach the gospel to the lost, teach the Word “rightly divided” to the saved, and uncompromisingly address issues that have arisen that affect believers and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

The world has changed dramatically since the 1920s and 1930s, and our various avenues of outreached have changed through the years, but our committment to the “faith once delivered” remains the same. Our fervor for the clear gospel of grace remains intact. Our resolve to strive for success in the eyes of God rather than in the eyes of men still stands. Our desire to be biblically balanced in every area of ministry continues to be our goal. Our love for our Savior serves as our motivation.

We have said it before, but will say it once again: We thank every person whom God has raised up to stand with us through their prayers and financial support. Truly, without the interest and fellowship of God’s people, this ministry could not celebrate a 90th anniversary. May God continue to strengthen all His faithful followers to keep pressing on for His glory and praise Him for His mercy and grace.
